Fire Safety Prevention and Response

This 2-day workshop will bring key highlights on both practical and theoretical aspects of fire safety in buildings and infrastructure. The trainer will introduce the different classes of fire and its respective prevention methods. The different types of fire extinguishers along with fixed fire control system will also be discussed. 

The second part of the workshop will focus on the flammable and combustible liquids. Guidelines on drafting an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and Fire Prevention Plans will also be presented to the delegates.

This course will equip delegates the knowledge required to prevent fires while having a better understanding of fire control systems and the planning necessary to mitigate the damage caused by fires and meet standards.

Workshop Trainer is a public safety and security consultant offering extensive experience in the development and execution of highly effective public safety and security solutions, working across multiple security disciplines and environments for clients, worldwide.

He began his career serving within the Aircraft Fighting and Rescue specialty of the United States Marine Corps where he held multiple leadership positions, earning numerous awards for his exemplary service. He is a Certified Department of Defense (DOD) Airport Firefighter and Firefighter I where he also holds a certificate in Hazardous Material Operations. Following his service with the United States Marine Corps, he also served as a State Firefighter for the Air National Guard holding responsibility for a variety of fire prevention and response efforts.

Following his service within the Fire and Rescue field he transitioned his experience into law enforcement where he served as a Police Officer for a major metropolitan police department and as a law enforcement advisor in Afghanistan, performing surveys and assessments of multiple facilities while assisting in the development of emergency plans and instructing a variety of subjects.   

Following his service in Afghanistan, he returned to the United States where he has provided corporate security for multiple Fortune 500 organisations holding responsibility for all facets of the emergency planning and response functions, at a variety of facilities. He now draws on his experience and anecdotes providing training to a variety of individuals and organisations around the world on multiple public safety and security issues.

 In addition to his extensive experience in public safety he is currently a member of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC) and an Executive Advisory Board Member and Fellow (FABCHS) at the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security (ABCHS) holding their highest credential (CHS-V). He is also a Certified Organizational Resilience Professional (CORP) with the International Consortium for Organizational Resilience (ICOR) certifying within the Emergency, Facility, Business Continuity and Crisis Management frameworks.
