The recommended methodology is based on more than 35 years in the security and law enforcement fields\, including the United States Secret Service and the National Basketball Association.\n\nYou will learn if your operations are safe\, secure\, and compliant based on industry best practices\, such as information collection\, sharing intelligence\, evaluating operations\, conducting training exercises\, and designing appropriate strategies. Because you want the response to become second nature so that under duress\, you can calmly and appropriately react\, training is the most efficient way to prepare for an emergency situation. The goal of this workshop is to present relevant subject matter to countering terrorism and to contribute to the development of the audience’s knowledge in these disciplines.\n\nWhat will you learn:\n\n\tInfluence improvements to organisational security and safety processes\n\tProvide enhancements to security plans\, policies and procedures\n\tIdentify required physical security measures\, such as vehicle barriers\, window film\, locking devices\, signage and intercoms\n\tExecute proper liaison with first responders\, particularly law\n\tHeighten monitor-and-respond incident response plan for nefarious activities in and around the access\n\tDevelop emergency preparedness and contingency plans sufficient to respond to and manage all types of crises\n\n \n\n\n\n\tChief Security Officer (CSO)\n\tGeneral Counsel\n\tVice President and/or Director of Security\n\tSecurity Director and/or Manager\n\tSecurity Supervisor\n\tEmergency Management Director and/or Manager\n\tRisk Manager and/or Director\n\tVice President and/or Director\, Human Resources\n\tVice President and/or Director\, Legal Department\n\tFacility Management\n\tChief Operations Officer (COO)\n\tDirector of Operations\n\tChief Strategy Officer\n\tChief Executive Officer\n\tChief Customer Officer\n\n \n\n\n\nMike draws on his experience with the strategic security firm\, Hillard Heintze\, the National Basketball Association (NBA)\, and an extensive career as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service.\n\nAs Senior Director of Security for the NBA\, Mike managed and coordinated global security\, as well as designed and implemented site security measures\, emergency evacuation programmes\, and contingency procedures. He was responsible for monitoring all NBA criminal investigations and security-related incidents throughout the league. He also implemented and supervised security for the NBA All-Star Game\, the NBA Finals\, and the World Basketball Championships.\n\nMike was a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service for 21 years and finished his career as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the Dignitary Protective Division at USSS Headquarters in Washington\, D.C. This assignment allowed him to be an event coordinator for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City\, Utah\, and a security adviser to the 2003 and 2004 Super Bowls. Other assignments in Washington\, D.C. were to the Presidential Protective Division and the Counter Assault Team.\n\nHis major event experience provides an institutional knowledge in securing and protecting facilities and people on a large scale.
